Established on August 21, 2004, the Department of Banking and Insurance (B&I) at Dhaka University was founded with a clear vision: to develop highly skilled professionals for Bangladesh’s rapidly expanding financial sector. Since its inception, the Department has been dedicated to academic excellence, nurturing students with both theoretical knowledge and practical insights. Today, B&I stands as a respected and distinguished academic hub, producing graduates who are making remarkable contributions in diverse professional fields at home and abroad.
To strengthen the bond among its graduates and connect them with the Department, a group of visionary alumni launched an initiative in 2009 to form the Dhaka University Alumni Association of Banking and Insurance (DUAAB). Dr. AR Khan, the founder of the Department, also served as the founder president of DUAAB.
DUAAB is a dynamic platform that unites alumni, current students, and faculty to foster collaboration, mentorship, and professional growth. This mutual exchange of knowledge and inspiration bridges academia and industry, nurturing personal and professional excellence while contributing to the nation’s socio-economic advancement.
